The contract marks YCH's second major collaboration with Carrefour within a year, following YCH's appointment to manage their Western Distribution Centre located Chengdu in April 2015.
Mr Thierry Garnier, President and CEO of Carrefour China, who was present at the ceremony, reaffirmed the close cooperation between the two organisations, citing YCH's strong management capabilities as key factor in the appointment.
Mr Leon Hong, Chief Executive of YCH China, reiterated YCH's commitment to operational excellence, having pledged to provide top-notch service to our world-class customers. "YCH's continued partnership with Carrefour is a testament to our progressive and synergistic relationship with our partners and demonstrates our unwavering commitment in meeting the evolving needs of consumers. Moving ahead, we hope to be able to play a pivotal role in Carrefour's growth strategy across China".
YCH has also introduced an industry-led training initiative with the Tianjin College of Commerce via the EduRISE initiative, to develop the next generation logistics talents. Future jobs will have more technology and skills embedded in them that demand for deeper skills and knowledge of markets, technology or vertical specialisations. It will allow students the opportunity to bridge the gap between academia and actual challenges and also help the logistics industry to grow despite constraints in manpower and create exciting new jobs. More than 150 students and teachers have graduated from the programme to date, becoming well-rounded supply chain professionals that continue to contribute to the growth of Tianjin and China.
Since the mid 90s, YCH has built a comprehensive network in China with more than 30 registered companies and a growing presence in various key cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Kunshan, Xiamen, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Macau and Hong Kong servicing both local companies as well as MNCs such as Dell, Carrefour, Samsung, Lenovo, GSK, Yum!, Amore Pacific and Ferrero.
