Asia's upcoming premier supply chain nerve centre recognized by Singapore's Building Construction Authority for environmentally friendly initiatives and design

Singapore, 26 May 2016 – YCH Group, Asia Pacific's leading integrated end-to-end supply chain management and logistics partner announced that its upcoming flagship facility, Supply Chain City®, had been conferred the Building and Construction Authority's (BCA) Green Mark Platinum Award at the BCA Awards 2016 on 26 May. The annual BCA Awards honours and pays tribute to displays of excellence in built environments in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, sustainability and user-friendliness.

Sustainable landscaping and community-centric elements have been incorporated into the design of Supply Chain City in a "Work, Learn and Live" concept unique from conventional logistics hubs and environments. Its eco-friendly initiatives are encapsulated within three main segments:

1. Energy Performance
   Using materials that enhance energy efficiency and conservation while reducing carbon footprint, including
   1. a high performance building envelope
   2. the use of highly-efficient lighting system integrated with movement sensors
   3. an efficient chiller plant with 0.65 kilowatt tons of refrigeration (KW/RT)
   4. lifts and escalators with variable voltage, variable frequency (VVVF) drive and sleep mode
   5. lifts and automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) cranes also use regenerative drives, which reduces energy consumption by 38 percent
2. Water Efficiency
   Using materials to manage and maximize the use of water consumption within the facility including
   1. the use of NEWater and harvested rain water for landscape irrigation
   2. Water Efficiency Labelling Scheme (WELS) rated water efficient fittings
   3. water efficient irrigation system with drip and rain sensors
3. Environmentally Friendly Materials
   1. leveraging materials that help to protect and conserve the environment such as green concrete with recycled content, replacing conventional Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) and aggregates
   2. green compost for landscaping sourced from horticultural wastes
   3. use of ozone depletion potential (ODP) and low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants for AC systems
   4. Use of low VOC paints, adhesives, and sealants as well as SGBS/SGLS certified building materials

The win reflects YCH's focus on becoming the forerunner in creating sustainable and environmentally friendly workplaces, with Supply Chain City joining its portfolio of green certified facilities throughout the region in countries such as China, India, Vietnam, and Thailand.
